Bidit enables fair and dynamic price offers between stores and customers. We only collect the minimum information required to operate our service, maintain security, and improve functionality. We do not sell, rent, or share personal information for advertising, marketing, or profiling purposes. Customer information is processed only in anonymised or pseudonymised form.
Information We Collect — From Merchants
Store Information: Store name, domain, and contact details
Configuration and Settings: Bidding thresholds, product preferences, and app settings
Product Catalog Data: Product information such as titles, prices, inventory levels, and metadata for bidding
Technical and Performance Data: Logs, analytics, and diagnostic information for app performance and troubleshooting
Information We Collect — From Customers
Our service processes limited session-level and transactional information to enable fair bidding. We do not collect names, email addresses, or payment data.
Bidding Activity: Offer amounts and bid outcomes (accepted, declined, or counter-offer)
Device and Browser Identifiers: Anonymous or hashed identifiers for fraud prevention and abuse detection
Product and Cart Data: Details of items being bid on and relevant product attributes
Session Data: Timezone and timestamps to manage cooldowns and fair bidding enforcement
How We Use Information
Operate and improve the Bidit platform
Process and manage customer offers and merchant rules
Prevent fraud and abuse through rate limiting and anonymous fingerprinting
Provide merchant support and technical assistance
Ensure compliance with legal and data protection obligations
Data Retention
Merchant Configuration: Retained while your store uses our app; deleted within 30 days of uninstallation
Customer Bid and Session Data: Stored temporarily (up to 30 days) for operational and fraud-prevention purposes
Security and Audit Logs: Retained briefly for compliance and troubleshooting
Temporary Tokens: Automatically expire within minutes for security
All deletions are automatic and irreversible once the retention period ends.
Cookies and Tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies to maintain secure sessions and prevent fraudulent activity. We may use a trusted third-party service (such as Fingerprint.com) to generate anonymous visitor identifiers that help us:
Enforce fair-bidding limits (e.g., one bid per product per day)
Prevent bots and automated activity
Maintain platform integrity and equitable customer experiences
No personally identifiable information is stored or shared through these tools.
Platform and Data Compliance
Bidit complies with the Shopify Partner Program Agreement, API Terms of Service, and applicable privacy laws. We handle mandatory Shopify webhooks for:

Merchants can request access, correction, or deletion of their store’s data by contacting us. Customers wishing to exercise privacy rights should contact the merchant whose store they interacted with.
